It is unclear when these two new Krispy Kreme doughnuts will be available or how much they will cost.

In August last year Krispy Kreme re-launched the much-loved Reese’s Peanut Butter doughnut.

In February this year the firm pulled the shutters down its branch on Coney Street in York.

Krispy Kreme UK currently operates over 120 branches.

The brand also operated 1,100 in-store cabinets inside the stores of retail partners, including Tesco, Morrisons, Costco and Center Parcs outlets across the country.

A spokesperson for Krispy Kreme UK & Ireland said: “We regularly review our locations and plan to open a further 15 shops across the UK and Ireland this year.

“While we’re sorry to be closing our York city centre shop, we can reassure our many loyal fans in the area that they can still pick up our delicious Original Glazed and many other Krispy Kreme flavours from our cabinets in their local AsdaSainsbury’s and Tesco, or visit our shop in York Designer Village.”

Krispy Kreme has not yet revealed where the new stores will be located.

In November, the bakery chain gave away more than 60,000 original glazed doughnuts for free to mark World Kindness Day.
