But now it’s bringing them to the kitchen too in a bid to help people ultimately save money.

The company’s AI Family Hub fridge freezer cleverly keeps an eye on all the food items stored away.

A camera inside the appliance watches everything that’s added and removed, keeping a handy list of everything.

You can then check your Samsung smartphone while you’re out to see what’s on the list – and even access the live camera feed to check for yourself.

With a massive screen on the fridge door, the tech will suggest recipes based on what’s inside.

You can even add sell-by dates so you’ll receive alerts when something is going off.

The suggested recipe feature will take into consideration sell-by dates to come up with ideas to use items about to go off.

All this combined should help users avoid unnecessary food waste – and therefore save money.

An estimated 17 per cent is wasted in households, the food service and in retail all together, according to 2022 data from the UN.

Samsung’s AI tool can only identify 33 fresh food items at launch but there are plans to introduce more in the future.

Aside from AI, the display on the fridge can be used to show virtual sticky notes and even watch TV.

But the appliance doesn’t come cheap, starting at £3,199.

It’s not the only bit of AI-packed kit Samsung has unveiled this week.

The company also revealed a washing machine called the AI ecobubble which cleverly weighs what you put in it and keeps an eye on dirt it removes to use the right amount of water and detergent needed.

According to Samsung, this and other enhancements reduce energy costs by up to 70 per cent.

Elsewhere, there’s a new Bespoke Jet Bot Combo AI which works as a robot vacuum cleaner and a mop that can tell the difference between carpet and other surfaces.
