Renault Clio

Johnny starts off with the famous Renault Cleo, which he said reminded many drivers of their first car when they were young.

JB tells how buyers can pick up a 2003 model for around £10,000. He said: “For that money you will be getting yourself a lovely little hot hatch.”

He points out that the car can do zero to 60 in around 6.9 seconds, and adds that this motor is all about “pure driving pleasure.”

Volkswagen Golf Hatchback

JB thinks the VW Golf Mk5 which starts off at around £4,500 could be set for classic status

The motor features a chunky 3.2L engine which does zero to 60 in around 6.3 seconds.

He said: “The R32 is quite an iconic looking car in particular.”

e added:: “What’s key about the mark 5 Golf generation for the performance variant is that it was a return to form.”

Audi TT Mk1

JB makes the point that since Audi discontinued the famous TT range, there is huge potential for classic status.

Car expert urges drivers to buy three affordable motors that look £1,000s more expensive… including little-known Citroen

He said: “And the car most ripe for that status is the oldest, the first generation car.”

JB picked out the Quattro spec with the 3.2L VR6 engine which does zero to 60 in around 6.2 seconds.

JB reveals that the famous motor can be snapped up for under £5,000 and has the potential to soar.

In a recent video, Johnny explored three used cars that can be picked up reasonably cheaply, but will make you feel like a millionaire.

Johnny first recommended drivers purchase the Citroen C6, which can be picked up for anywhere between £2,000 to £8,000 on AutoTrader.

Johnny said: “Every so often, Citroen decides to bring out an absolutely stunning car – many of which end up being worth a small fortune at some point during their existence.

“I reckon that the C6 is ripe to be one of the next examples of this as it’s a very different looking car, but incredibly cool in my opinion.

“The exterior has really clean, flowing lines and the concave rear window is a stunning feature too.”
