Mike was left seething when he discovered the social media channel had been used to post pornographic content to his army of more than 800,000 followers.

Since the account was hijacked three months ago Mike has still not managed to regain control.

In a X video posted on March 29 he apologised to his fans and expressed how he’s losing hope of salvaging the page.

Mike also explained how Facebook were “not helpful” in solving the problem.

He believes this is because they receive hundreds of thousands of hacked accounts per day and “you have to be a politician or a world leader” to be taken seriously.

Mike continued: “Because I’m nobody, I’m in amongst the 350,000 every single day why should I take preference?”

The petrolhead said sorry in a two minute video he posted on his X, formerly Twitter account.

“I apologise again for all the lurid Facebook posts that are appearing on the Wheeler Dealer Facebook page.

“The scumbags who stole it are just after money and clickbait and there’s nothing I can do about it.

“They’re completely in control, I can’t turn it off, I can’t turn it over I can’t get it back it’s completely gone,” he said.

He added: “It’s lost and I don’t think I’m ever going to get it back.”

Mike explained how other fraudsters are now trying to take advantage of the situation and claim they can re-hack the account and get it back.

Despite the hacking the host’s loyal fans have flocked to the comment sections to show their support.

One person said: “We love you Mike,” while another was sympathetic writing: “Feel your pain.”

A third offered: “Sorry to see that. All the best mate, can’t wait for the new WD season.”

It comes as Mike opened up on how his love of cars began in a tell-all interview.

The motor fanatic who’s hosted Wheeler Dealers since it first aired in 2003, is a well-known face among petrolheads- gaining a legion of fans thanks to his skills as a trader.

In a sit-down chat with former Fifth Gear presenter Jonny Smith for The Late Brake Show‘s YouTube channel, Mike revealed that he was thrust into the world of car building and modifying thanks to his father.

In the interview, Mike says it all began because of his dad’s job as a car customiser – which included building several ‘Hot Rod’ motors that became famous in the world of muscle motors.

Mike said: “It was really like being in the scene of American Graffiti, you know back then.

“It was a very special moment growing up with my dad and it meant that I had no choice but to fall in love with cars.

“In terms of falling in love with cars, it was sort of instilled in me, this is the family business, this is what we do and you’re helping.”

“During the summer holidays that was my job, I would be down the workshop helping my dad.”
