The former glamour model met her ex-husband on I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here in 2004.
In a scathing interview, she said that Pete had “nothing” before he met her in the jungle.
Speaking on Anything Goes with James English, Katie said: “when we did jobs together I’d always get more money, make sure we had separate contracts.
“I think he found that a bit hard as well. I was like well hang on you’ve just turned up in the jungle, I’ve already got a career going on.
“You had a song like, how many years ago? you need to earn it. this is the truth, I don’t care what anyone says I made Pete again. I made him,” she said.
Pete rose to fame for his nineties hit Mysterious Girl, but Katie believes he “forgets where he came from”.
“He was no one before he went in the jungle and that’s the truth, that’s not me being a b****,” she added.
“He done that one hit, like 10 years ago and I think he forgets where he came from.”
The couple were married from 2005 to 2009 and share two children – Junior, 18 and Princess, 16.
Katie has been on the warpath this week after she blamed her bankruptcy on Pete too.
Opening up about her relationships, Katie said: “If men had not been in my life, I wouldn’t be in the bankruptcy that I’ve been in.
“I wouldn’t be tormented in my brain, or mentally abused like I have been.”
Katie added on the How To Fail podcast to host Elizabeth Day: “I have therapy all because of men.”
Looking back on her past, the star claimed her marriages were not equal or healthy.
And despite being happily loved-up with the Married At First Sight star JJ Slater, 31, she said her time with ex Kieran Hayler, 36, Peter, 51, and Alex Reid, 48, had left her wary of men.
She said: “The first one, Pete, I’d like to say it was real.
“But if you knew what I knew now, you can read my mum’s book, because I’ve been gagged.
“But everything we did was on TV because we had the same manager.
“The second and third were just rebounds, I rushed them because I wanted that married life back and living with someone with the kids because that’s what I had with Pete.
“So in therapy we talk about the patterns. Now I’m so exhausted with relationships.
“The next time I go out with someone they have to have qualities, boundaries, (no) red flags. And it does scare me.”
