Bargain-hunters are in for a treat as Samsung’s newest smartphone, the budget-end Galaxy A35, has just been launched.

Longtime Android fans are most likely aware that when it comes to affordable mobile, Samsung is a market-leader with its A series of smartphones.

They are often released shortly after the S series (Samsung’s flagship devices).

Not only are they a huge improvement on previous iterations, but these cheaper mobiles often pack a few of the same features as the flagship devices.

If a vastly improved device wasn’t enough of a draw, Mobiles.co.uk are also chucking in £50 cashback and a pair of free Galaxy buds FE so you can enjoy your new phone to the fullest.

It’s worth noting that the Galaxy Buds normally retail at £99 on Amazon, but currently, they are on sale for 30% less, making them £69 – still quite the savings.

The A34 was the last device in the series and came with a 6.6-inch AMOLED display.

We see a return for the sizable 6.6-inch screen on the A35, but this time, they’ve improved on the screen.

The display is now Super AMOLED, meaning brighter colours and deeper contrasts. However, the best improvement is the refresh rate, which now sits at 120hz, the same as Samsung’s current flagship devices.

In terms of processing power, the Octa-Core processor makes a return which essentially means you’ll be able to complete daily tasks like checking social media, replying to emails or texts, and streaming will be done in a flash, no dreadfully long loading times.

Now, the part that everyone wants to know is the camera. While the A34 had an ultra-wide 8MP, 48MP rear camera and 5 Megapixel macro camera configuration, the 35 has an upgraded rear camera, making it 50 Megapixels for improved photos.

It also records in UHD 4K at 30 frames per second; while it may not display this quality if you transfer videos across, you’ll certainly see the difference.

Samsung promises up to 2 days of battery life per full charge on the A35, but it’s worth noting that the battery is still 5,000mAh, the same capacity as the A34, so there are no changes there.

Ultimately the A35 is a great new addition to the ever-growing range of budget handsets and is definitely worth considering if you want a new phone without the eyewatering price tags.

If, however, you’re after a SIM-free alternative, last week I spotted the Samsung Galaxy A14 reduced from £219 to £119 on Amazon (a deal that’s still running).
