He appeared in the latest episode of his travel show with Strictly pal and judge Anton Du Beke that follows their adventures in Spain.
Tonight viewers saw Giovanni reveal his unique tattoo and its special meaning to Anton, 57.
Gio rolled up the sleeve on his arm and pointed to three words, ‘Never Give Up’.
He said: “That is my life motto. Never give up.”
Gio, 33, has been rocked by reports he made life difficult for his Strictly celeb partners.
Last year, his Strictly partner Amanda Abbington quit midway through the series.
It came amid a storm of complaints from his former partners including Sherlock actress Amanda, and TV presenters Laura Whitmore and Ranvir Singh.
And insiders have claimed his future on the BBC show is hanging in the balance.
There was speculation the professional dancer, 33, would return to the competition this year without a dance partner.
A telly source told The Sun On Sunday Strictly bosses had yet to decide whether to partner Giovanni up with a celebrity.
“Bosses are undecided about whether or not they will give Gio a partner, just to take the heat off him,” the source said.
“He’s still very much loved by all the head honchos.
However, a source has since claimed there is another reason for the delay.
They insisted that “no decisions would be made without” executive producer Sarah James’ approval and she has been off work on maternity leave.
The source continued to MailOnline: “It isn’t really okay to expect someone on maternity leave to get involved in work matters when they are off.”
Strictly has declined to comment when contacted by The Sun.
Last week, Giovanni’s previous celeb partners Amanda, Laura, and Ranvir met to compare notes about their ‘negative’ experiences in training.
Sherlock actress Amanda quit the Strictly last October citing medical reason, with a source revealing she had been diagnosed with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.
It came after her time with Giovanni was blighted by a series of rows.
