The royal couple shared the update in a statement released tonight after Kate, 42, spoke about the “huge shock” of being treated for the disease.
A Kensington Palace spokesperson said: “The Prince and Princess are both enormously touched by the kind messages from people here in the UK, across the Commonwealth and around the world in response to Her Royal Highness’ message.
“They are extremely moved by the public’s warmth and support and are grateful for the understanding of their request for privacy at this time.”
US President Joe Biden was among the well wishers and said in a statement on X: “Jill and I join millions around the world in praying for your full recovery, Princess Kate.”
First Lady Jill Biden posted: “You are brave, and we love you.”

The Australian PM Anthony Albanese said that his thoughts and the those of all Australians were with Kate after her shock cancer news.
He said: “The Princess of Wales has shown extraordinary courage with her public statement today, in which she expresses her concern for others.
“We are sending support and strength in this difficult time as she undergoes treatment, and we wish her well for a speedy recovery.”
French President Emmanuel Macron wrote on X yesterday: “In this difficult period you are going through, Brigitte and I wish you a full recovery.
“Your strength and resilience inspire us all.”
Kate Garraway called the announcement “such tough heart breaking news” and said: “Sending love to Catherine, HRH Princess of Wales, and her beloved family and all those fighting for their health and those of their loved ones.”
