Netherlands vs Scotland betting preview
Ronald Koeman’s second stint in charge of the Netherlands seems to have settled down after a rough start that saw his team lose three of his first four matches in charge.
Stability has now returned, and Holland made it through to UEFA Euro 2024 with three successive wins, finishing a comfortable second in Group B, four points behind winners France, and five clear of third-placed Greece.
Holland needs to kick on now, though. In recent years they’ve comfortably beaten nations like Scotland but have failed when they’ve played against the top-ranked nations on the world stage.
The same pattern looks set to be followed in Amsterdam on Friday. Steve Clarke’s team comes into the match on a bad run of form and looks ripe for the taking. Scotland are now without a win in their last five.
Not only are they not winning, but the Scots have started to concede a lot of goals.
They can be excused for letting in three and four against England and France respectively in their last two friendlies.
But they also conceded twice in Spain, twice in Georgia and three times at home to Norway in their final three Euro 2024 qualifiers.
That’s 14 goals in their last five matches. Although three of the games were against top FIFA-ranked opposition, the Georgia and Norway results should be cause for concern this close to a major competition.
The Dutch are 2/5 to win on the night, and although a touch short against a Scotland side that will give it a go, Koeman’s team should be good for the win.

Wout Weghorst to score anytime (Spreadex)
Wout Weghorst has made a habit of scoring against the home nations in recent matches, with home and away goals against the Republic of Ireland in the UEFA Euro 2024 qualifying campaign.
In total, he scored three times in eight Euro qualifiers. This was in a Dutch team that struggled at times, with the goals coming from across the team. A match against British opposition is right up his street. He has been boosted to 2/1 to score anytime with Spreadex.
⚽ Back Wout Weghorst to score anytime at 2/1 with Spreadex ⚽
Over 3.5 goals (bet365)
Goals are the theme in the tips for this match, and with Scotland conceding for fun in recent matches, the Dutch will fancy their chances of filling their boots.
The Dutch can put teams like Scotland away for fun. It’s hard not to see them cashing in tonight, and given Scotland knows where the net is, over 3.5 goals looks a good call.
⚽ Back over 3.5 goals at 7/4 with bet365 ⚽
Both teams to score (Sky Bet)
Despite conceding plenty of goals in recent matches, Scotland have also found the net plenty of times.
In the recent run of five games we referred to, the Scots scored in four of those matches.
Unless Steve Clarke is trying out some sort of defensive formation against the Dutch, both teams to score looks like a good value bet.
⚽ Both teams to score at 5/6 with Sky Bet ⚽
