Shoppers can pick up the Fire TV Stick Lite for £24.99, down from £34.99 – that’s a tidy 29% off.
The Amazon Spring Deal Days event kicked off this morning (20th March) and runs until next Monday (25th March).
Amazon has reduced the cost of every item in its Fire TV Stick range, including budget-friendly Lite, which is the cheapest of them.
Smart TV Sticks are a great way to upgrade your home television: they essentially transforms an ordinary television or monitor into a smart one.
If you weigh up the cost of Fire TV Stick (anywhere from £24.99 to £44.99 in the current sale) and a brand-new smart television, it’s not hard to see how the stick might be the more realistic option.
They’re also a handy way of improving below-par smart tellies, some of which lack certain apps and have a rather confusing layout, or are just simply a bit clunky.
It’s simple enough when it comes to starting up the Fire TV Stick: all you’ll have to do is plug it into the back of your TV and you’re good to go.
The technical part is making sure you choose the right one, as there are a few different models.
The Lite is the cheapest device, but it’s missing a few of the frills of the standard Fire TV Stick – you can’t use it to control your TV’s volume, for example.
You can read more in my Amazon Fire TV Stick Lite vs Fire TV Stick explainer, where I dig into the differences between these devices.
Spend a bit more, and you can pick up a premium 4K Fire TV Stick, but keep in mind you’ll need a 4K TV to appreciate that Ultra HD picture quality.
Our Fire TV Stick 4K vs Fire TV Stick 4K Max explainer will talk you through how the two pricier streaming sticks compare.
Whatever your choice, your Fire Stick will set you up with access to Amazon’s Fire platform.
In other words, a fast-track to services like Prime Video, Netflix, Hulu, Disney+, and HBO, all tucked away in one place on your Fire Stick’s homes screen.
The only thing you’ll have to do is make sure you’ve got a running subscription to whatever platforms you want to stream from.
It doesn’t stop at streaming: you can also watch your favourite live TV, news, and sports as long as you’re signed up to Sky and ITVx.
Amazon fans will be pleased to know that it’s compatible with other Amazon Alexa devices, so you can control it from devices like the Amazon Echo and Echo Shows.
One customer describes the Lite as ‘small but mighty,’ going on to state: ‘This [the Fire Stick] is awesome! The best bit is the Alexa thing – I can watch a film and keep asking her for the footie scores.’
Another reviewer notes: ‘The Fire TV Stick with Alexa Voice Remote is a great device for anyone who wants to turn their TV into a smart TV. It’s affordable, easy to use, and offers a lot of features and content.’
