A savvy woman named Katie Fry has shared how she gave her plain kitchen a stunning pink overhaul, without burning a hole in her purse.

Thrilled with her home’s fresh new feel, Katie took to social media to show others, leaving many open-mouthed.

Posting on DIY On A Budget Official, a private Facebook group with a staggering 2.2 million members, Katie shared before and after pictures of her kitchen and penned: “Did my council kitchen to make it work for us and make it pretty.”

Katie, who moved into her home eight months ago, then added: “I do have permission from my council due to the kitchen being replaced in three years.”

What was once very plain – with brown cupboards and grey flooring – has now been totally transformed into a unique space – with pink cupboards, a stunning pink splashback and trendy brown flooring.

The savvy mum, from Witley, then explained: “Cabinet colour is Little pink by Rust-oleum wood and cabinet paint.”

To keep the costs low, Katie shared: “Shelves are old scaffolding boards my husband got from our local dump.”

Katie later revealed that she used tile stickers from Amazon to create a splash back and self-adhesive flooring, also from Amazon, to give her floor a fresh new feel.

Not only this, but she also explained that she nabbed her kitchen island from Argos

Katie later told Fabulous: “It was a lot of work to get it to work for my family but [it was] worth it.”
