The incident occurred in the second half of this afternoon’s FA Cup clash quarter final.
The Blues were leading 2-1 when the shock incident happened.
Marc Cucurella had given Chelsea an early lead before Cole Palmer doubled the advantage on the stroke of half time.
However, the Championship leaders got themselves back into the game just six minutes after the restart.
Blues defender Axel Disasi had a nightmare as he tried to pass the ball back to goalkeeper Robert Sanchez.
But he lifted it far too high in the air for Sanchez to collect and it sailed straight into the Chelsea net for a stunning own goal – although BBC viewers were left fuming fuming that the cameras missed out.
The excitement was mounting as Leicester looked to mount a comeback – but the game came to a sudden half was it ticked past the hour mark.
