And new information and photos have revealed what people can expect from the tropical resort when it opens in June.
A blog update from Joey Gaskins, part of the Disney Cruise Line team in The Bahamas, explained what the destination will have for visitors, with photographs showing how well it’s coming along.

Joey claims holidaymakers will be able to enjoy “rich culture, warm hospitality and the breathtaking natural beauty of The Bahamas“.
First he explained the Mabrika Cove Cabanas, which families will be able to hire for the day.
The cabanas will offer the perfect place for people to make the most of the white sand and turquoise waters.
Joey explained that they will be among the first things people see as they approach the island on a Disney Cruise ship and “will set a tone for the vibrant and beautiful architecture throughout the destination”.
Also visible from the sea will be shell-inspired pavilions, where guests will be able to enjoy food and drinks, with guests able to shelter from the sunlight beneath the shade.

The pavilions, as well as the rest of the architecture on the island have been designed to resemble colourful, oversized seashells scattered along the coastline.
Visitors can enjoy food from the True-True Too BBQ while sitting beneath the shells and looking at views of the ocean.
Elsewhere the east of the island, will have its own family beach, with market-style dining for kids and parents to enjoy together.
Families can also spend the day together in the water play area which will have slides, fountains, and even a dedicated space for toddlers.
Other family-friendly activities include gaming pavilions, a volleyball court, and a ball pit to entertain youngsters.
Families with older kids will be able to rent bikes and watercrafts.
For parents looking for a break from parenting, Disney Cruise Line counsellors will be on site to keep youngsters between the ages of three to 12 occupied at a kids’ club.

There they can make the most of a splash zone inspired by The Little Mermaid as well as a dedicated dining area.
For older Disney fans holidaying without their children, an adults-only beach with dedicated dining area and cabanas will provide the perfect place to go for a secluded beach trip.
Elsewhere there’ll be a Glass Window Bridge for guests to walk along, while they can also pay a visit to one of the island’s many other beaches, including some with pink sand.

“With the opening of Lighthouse Point, visitors from around the world will experience the magic of The Bahamas in a new way, one that truly celebrates its natural and cultural beauty.”

Meanwhile, this new £250m holiday adventure resort is opening in the UK in the future, with 570 new lodges.
And Eurocamp has revealed 250 new resorts to open, with waterparks and private beaches.
