On Monday, Celebrity Boxing started promoting a showdown between James ‘Buster’ Douglas and Michael Spinks – who have a whopping combined age of 130.
Fight fanatics were outraged to see the pair face off with one another in a viral video.
But their concerns were somewhat misplaced as it soon transpired that the fight would be ‘AI’ dust-up.
Promoter Damon Feldman, the brother of BKFC chief Dave, said: “We’re putting on the first AI celebrity boxing match with the one and only Michael Spinks and James ‘Buster’ Douglas.
“A battle of heavyweight champions.
“The pair then engaged in a timid face-off after Feldman instructed them to come closer.
“Feldman added: “It’s going down. The first ever AI match. Michael Spinks versus James ‘Buster’ Douglas.”
Fans of the Sweet Science were quick to comment, with one saying: “What is an AI boxing match?”
Another said: “They have no idea what’s going on.”

And another said: “WTF?
One remarked: “Dudes about to play Wii boxing.”
Another chimed in: “He said AI? As in these two guys are having a fight simulated not actually fighting right?”
The details of the AI exhibition are currently still a mystery, although they’re set to be released in the coming weeks.
Douglas, 63, is a former undisputed champion who shot to fame with the biggest upset in boxing history against Mike Tyson.
He shocked the world back in 1990 when he handed Tyson his first-ever loss via brutal tenth-round KO.
But his reign as undisputed champion wouldn’t last long as he’d suffer a third-round KO loss to Evander Holyfield eight months later.
Spinks, meanwhile, is a former two-weight world champion having won belts a light-heavy and heavyweight.
His resume includes back-to-back decision wins over Larry Holmes, whom he beat to become IBF and Ring Magazine heavyweight king.
But his reign – and career – came to an end in June 1988 when he was knocked out by Tyson.
