The new selection in their popular range has been fittingly called The Great Egg-scape in time for Easter.

It features adorable new characters, a squishy yellow chick with a red gummy tummy and two pigs with green and orange bellies.

But, hungry shoppers should keep an eye out for another special figure before scoffing the whole lot.

There’s a green chick in select packs, and the lucky customer who finds it will bag an eye-watering £5,000.

The post, shared on Facebook by M&S, has already racked up 29,000 views.

Eager fans hailed the delicious goodie, one wrote: “Need to get some for the Easter Bunny Jar.”

“I love Percy Pig sweets,” said another.

“We have to get some of these,” begged someone else.

A fourth agreed “I can’t wait to try this new version.”

One fan joked: “My son just ate a bag, we didn’t know about the green chick, hopefully we didn’t have one.”

An excited shopper asked their pal: “Are we going anywhere near an M&S tomorrow.”

“We’ve got some, they’re tasty,” boasted an impressed customer.

The industry giant has also started stocking mini bags, called Piglets, which come as a pack of 10.

Each mini bag is 96 calories per bag and of course, as with standard Percy Pigs, the sweets are suitable for vegetarians and vegans.

It comes as Easter looms just around the corner and many supermarkets are offering the chance to win seasonal prizes.

Cadbury have launched a new competition in which chocoholics can scoop an “ultimate” egg worth £12 for free.

Fans have the chance to scoop a Mini Eggs treat, a Crunchie Egg, a Dairy Milk Fruit and Nut or a Dairy Milk white chocolate egg.

Also up for grabs are a Dairy Milk Nibbles, Freddo Faces, White Chocolate Buttons and Milk Chocolate Buttons.

These come with cute penguin and monkey faces on the iconic purple packaging, perfect for little ones.

To apply, visit the Cadbury Gifts website and click on the Cadbury Competition 2024 section.

All you have to do is answer ‘true’ or ‘false’ to one statement which reads: “The first ever Easter Egg was invested in the UK.”

Shoppers can also nab the 2024 Cadbury Easter bundle of goodies for free, using a promotion code from Quidco.

Customers can sign up for a free £15 Quidco bonus to cover the price of the family Easter egg selection.

The popular money-saving site is offering the deal to all new Quidco customers who spend £5 or more.

The history of Percy Pig

PERCY Pig first hit shelves in M&S in 1992.

The pig shaped sweets originally came in strawberry, blackcurrant and raspberry flavours.

Since then Percy has been joined by many pals including a cola Candice Cow, and orange and strawberry Sharon Sheep.

In 2013 – aged 21 – he found love with Penny.

On his website Percy describes Penny as the “most lovely lemon and vanilla-flavoured pigette”.

After Percy and Penny got together Percy piglets began to appear.

Mango-flavoured Timmy Tiger and blackcurrant-flavoured Poppy Panda joined the range in 2014.

Since 2022 all Percy Pigs have been vegan friendly as M&S ditched gelatin.

You can even purchase Percy smoothies, biscuits, and hampers.

As well as food, Percy has also branched out into kitchen accessories, bedding, clothing, and even a neon light and nail polish.

And if you just can’t choose – there’s always a Percy gift card to splash on all things piggy.
