Occasional Digest - a story for you

IN a recent post to the Facebook group Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK, a savvy shopper shared their bargain find.

Paige Wilson had been shopping in her local Asda when she spotted discounted nappies.

The nappies were from Asda’s own brand, Little Angel.

She posted several images to the social media group, of the nappies on the shelf and then filling a trolley.

She wrote alongside the images: “Asda have their nappies reduced all sizes from 57p to £1.49 for the bigger packs.”

It looked like Paige had bought a minimum of seven packs, but she said they were for “three children”.

As for which Asda she found them in, she added: “Asda at Team Valley.”

Samantha Carter explained why she thought the nappies were so cheap.

Her comment read: “Looks like they are changing the old plastic packaging to paper.

“We only had paper ones at our local [Asda] and they cost the full price.”

And Dawn Aiery agreed with this suggestion: “Must be changing packaging again,” she wrote.

Joshua McGrath also surmised: “Probs because since they changed the design they are not leakproof.”

Annoyingly for Asda customers, it wasn’t every store that had the nappies on offer.

Abi Smith-Payne said: “It’s not every store. I’ve been and got my boy’s nappies and pull-ups today from Asda all full price.”

Zuzanna Kiklica-Kieblesz chimed: “My Asda don’t have this offer – went there today.”

‘No way is this from Asda’ Say fashionistas who’ve spotted the perfect Spring jacket but some think it gives ‘Mary Berry’ vibes

Laura-Kate Slee wrote: “Not all Asda’s I’m afraid. Still normal price in mine.”

But it seems they are also on offer online as Jessica Marie said she purchased some digitally.

She explained: “My luck, just brought some online.”

As for whether the nappies are any good, there are mixed reviews and ratings online.

One gave a five-star review and wrote: “I love these nappies! They are really soft and allow baby to move freely!”

Another wrote: “Very good price and quality, the baby’s skin is always dry and smooth after using these pampers, I recommend them with confidence.”

A third said: “Brilliant nappies. Good value, don’t leak or cause rashes.”

But not everyone had the same experience.

A comment read: “Don’t find those nappies as good as they used to be – back of nappy is not as secure and find more leakages from the back.”

Someone else gave the product two stars and added: “These nappies used to be great.

“However, Asda has recently changed the design of them and now they leak every time.”
