EMMERDALE fans have raged they ‘can’t take it anymore’ as they beg bosses to axe two ‘vile and irredeemable’ characters.

The ITV soap has seen plenty of drama among the Dingle family lately, with Chas being diagnosed with cancer, Charity stabbing husband Mack in the stomach as her mental health spirals, and Nate discovering wife Tracy’s affair with his uncle, Caleb.

Added into the mix has been the arrival of Caleb’s estranged wife Ruby, and she’s out for revenge after learning of his romps with Tracy.

She has teamed up with Kim Tate to make him pay for the hurt he’s caused, while revelling in the fact other members of the Dingle family have also been giving him a tough time in the wake of the revelations.

Meanwhile, Mackenzie was relieved to learn charges were not going to be pressed against Charity for accidentally stabbing him.

The character is desperate to get close to his wife but seems blind to her needs and how much she is still struggling to come to terms with everything that’s happened since Christmas.

The behaviour of both characters has left Emmerdale fans annoyed and keen to see them leave the village as soon as possible.

One wrote on X: “Out of all the characters introduced in all the soaps lately, Ruby is by far the worst, not likeable, isn’t interesting, just vile, no redeeming qualities whatsoever.

“Soaps need to realise some likeable characters are necessary, not everyone being awful.”

Another added: “I literally cannot take Mack on my screen anymore. I just want him GONE!!!”

A third tweeted: “#Emmerdale please can you send Ruby back to where she came from?”

However, others were willing to give both characters a chance, with one writing: “Caleb doesn’t know what Ruby is really up to does he can’t wait for the outcome.”

Emmerdale’s Charity Dingle stabs husband Mack in horrifying scenes

A fellow fan commented: “I really would like to see Mack & Charity happy #Emmerdale.”

Unfortunately that seems unlikely any time soon, as spoilers for upcoming episodes has revealed that Charity will flee the village as she struggles to cope with her PTSD.

Harry aka Damon Harris caused considerable damage during his last stint in the ITV Dales but things came to a harrowing point for him when he was shot by Charity Dingle during a struggle.

Since then, the Woolpack landlady played by Emma Atkins has been finding it hard to move on with her life as she’s been plagued by panic attacks, night terrors and other PTSD-related symptoms.

Coming up next week, after opening up in her therapy session, Charity faces up to her abandonment issues.

Later that evening, tortured Charity ignores Mack’s babbling and leaves the house in a state of torment.
