It seemed all she had to do to stay clear of unwanted attention was show her unshaven armpits.
“Initially I stopped shaving because I would get really bad razor burn and ingrown hairs and it would burn when I would put on deodorant,” said Alauna Roby (@alaunaroby).
She especially didn’t feel the need to inflict suffering upon herself once she was completely secluded from others.
“And so during Covid, I was like, well, nobody’s looking at me anyways, why do I have to deal with this?”
After letting her hair grow freely, she would never risk picking up a razor again.
She had even found another perk to keeping things natural.
“But now I continue to not shave because I find that it’s a great man repellant for men that I would never date anyway,” she said.
Some of her fans were also on the same pro-armpit hair page.
“I rarely shave anymore,” said one follower.
“Me too, I love not hurting,” said another watcher.
She also had a message – or more like a lesson – for the haters.
“If you really look at me and go ‘ew, you have armpit hair,’ I’m going to say ‘ew, you’re immature.’ Do you not know that women have armpit hair?”
“I’m sorry that I don’t conform to your societal norms. Also, I feel like it’s an unwritten rule that femme bisexuals don’t shave,” she said.
Others were also loving the look.
“Hairy women are beautiful,” said one follower.
“I love the way you look – perfect,” another watcher agreed.
According to Healthline, shaving your armpits, especially with a dull blade, can result in ingrown hairs, razor burn, and skin irritation.
Shaving, however, can lead to less sweating and reduced odor.
