The bodies of a father and son have been found in WA’s remote outback, days after they were reported missing while prospecting.
West Australian police say 33-year-old James Dempsey and his 66-year-old father Ray were found dead on Tuesday afternoon.
The pair were reported missing on Saturday, when police were notified of an empty campsite and vehicle belonging to the men on Polelle Station, about 50 minutes south of Meekatharra.
A station worker raised the alarm, but it was not known how long the men had been gone.
A search began of the sparse region on Saturday evening and more resources were committed to the task the following morning.
Temperatures in Meekatharra soared above 40 degrees Celsius over the weekend.
A police spokesperson said the deaths were not suspicious and a report will be prepared for the coroner.
