Salon owner Mary is an expert in all things haircare and knowing what products work for different hair types.
In a recent TikTok video, she shared her top wash-day combo for women with hair that’s fine or thinning.
And the best bit? Both products are currently on offer at Boots.
Her first recommendation was the Vichy Dercos Anti-Hair Loss Shampoo for Weak Hair and Sensitive Scalps.
“If your hair is fine and on the thinning side, the Dercos Energy range is great,” she said.
“[This shampoo] has got aminexil, niacinamide, AHA and Vitamin E in it.
“Aminexil is, I’m not going to say proven to help with hair loss and improve hair loss, but it is one of those things that’s a great stimulant.
“So, it can help hair loss.
“Niacinamide is hydrating, and so is Vitamin E.
“And it’s got AHA which is exfoliating.
“That, all together, will put your scalp in as healthy a place as possible to give you a chance of hair regrowth occuring.”
The shampoo is currently £9.37, down from £12.50, and said to “combat hair loss due to breakage and help maintain the density of thinning and brittle hair”.
Mary recommended pairing the ‘poo with the Vichy Dercos Energy+ Fortifying Conditioner for Hair Loss Due to Breakage, which is currently also £9.37, down from £12.50 at Boots.
She described it as “a nice lightweight one if you’re someone who doesn’t have hair loss specifically but suffers from split ends”.
“This has got ceramides in it,” she said.
“And it’s also got amino acids, so it’s slightly strengthening.
“It will preserve length if you struggle with keeping your length healthy.”
Vichy bosses affirmed that the conditioner leaves hair easier to manage and detangle.
