Rachael (@rachaelpontilloskincare) explained that she picked up the beauty recipe from a Vintage Beauty Club class.

“Discover the ancient herbal skin care secrets used by your grandmother’s grandmother,” the site urged.

Instead of cosmetics from Ulta or Sephora, the site revealed that they specialized in skin care that came naturally from Mother Earth.

“Long ago–way before parabens, phthalates, and Ulta, Sephora, and Influencers told us what to buy–our ancestors ‘shopped’ for botanicals from their gardens to make natural beauty products,” the site explained.

Instead of chemicals, the “ancient way” of creating skincare used to involve gathering flowers, leaves, and pressed oils from nuts and seeds.

The traditional way of gathering for beauty sources still persists in many cultures today.

“In Asia, the Americas, Africa, Australia, New Zealand, and islands of the Atlantic and Pacific, Earth-based and sacred beauty rituals remain in the Indigenous cultures who still celebrate them, and in the passed-on traditions hidden amidst European colonization,” the site said.

Rachael was excited to try out the face cream with all-natural ingredients.

She shared her spread of materials, prepped and ready to go on her kitchen table.

In bowls, she had prepared beeswax, mango butter, aloe vera gel, roses hydrosol, and tamanu oil.

In a pot on the stove, she began by melting down the waxes and the butters.

Once the liquids were mixed and well incorporated, she transferred the solution to a food processor.

Next, she added the remaining ingredients and gave it a quick blend.

A thick white cream was the final result, which she tested on the back of her hand to test for allergies.
