Rob Cross 2-1 Luke Humphries

BREAK OF THROW!

Hello! Who saw this coming? Rob Cross perhaps, who sandwiches some brilliance with two nightmare trips to the oche.

Voltage begins with just 23, and then mutters to himself “Rubbish, Bobby!” as he makes a mess at a finish.

Luke Humpries steps up with 117 remaining, and takes it out like the champion of the world that he is.

BREAK OF THROW!

A superb start from Rob Cross!

The southerner accelerates away from his opponent once more, leaving himself Double 18 again.

He doesn’t hit it on this occasion, but eventually finds Double 4 to save Luke Humphries another trip to the board.

Rob Cross 1-0 Luke Humphries

A keen first leg for Rob Cross.

In fact, Luke Humphries wasn’t even in it as Voltage utilises just 13 darts, ending with Double 18.

Voltage hoping to shock Cool Hand

Next up this evening, it’s the return of Rob Cross to face Luke Humphries.

Voltage has won two his quarter-finals so far, beating Michael Smith in Glasgow last week and Peter Wright on night one in Cardiff.

In contrast, the world number one was a runner-up in Scotland seven days ago, losing out to Michael van Gerwen in a 6-5 thriller.

Michael Smith 5-6 Nathan Aspinall

Nathan Aspinall is on the board!

And unsurprisingly, he does it the hard way. The Asp missed two darts for the match, and leaves Michael Smith the chance to checkout a century.

But the Bully Boy falters, and allows Aspinall to return and find Double 10.

A huge sigh of relief follows from the victor. He knows he has played much better than that recently and lost.

We’re going all the way!

Michael Smith once again finds joy with Double 18, and it’s heading for a one-leg shootout.
