Last week I covered the current discounts on Amazon’s Fire TV range – now here comes another great deal from one of the biggest manufacturers on the UK market.
Earlier today I spotted this price drop on Amazon’s best-selling TVs page.
The CU7000 range hit the market in 2023, squarely positioned by Samsung as an unapologetically budget-friendly option for shoppers.
You won’t get the extra-special, super-sharp picture quality of Samsung’s QLED and Neo-QLED ranges – but those are tellies that will potentially set you back thousands.
By contrast, I’d call the CU8000 aa superb choice for anyone who wants 1) to scale up their TV to a decent 50-inch size, and 2) the peace of mind of buying from a big-name brand.
You’ve got a reliable smart hub in the form of Samsung’s industry-lauded Tizen platform: a smooth, intuitive headquarters for Netflix, iPlayer, Disney Plus and the like.
The 4K visuals are powered by the brand’s Crystal 4K processor, which means it will automatically upscale non-4K content and perfect it in real-time.
There’s also a built-in gaming hub that lets you play Xbox games, plus other apps, minus the console – and Alexa comes built-in which means you can link this TV to other smart tech around your home.
I like the look – or rather, the sound – of the OTS (Object Tracking Sound) Lite function.
This automatically scans whatever you’re watching, and moves the sound from one speaker to the next (imagine a car whizzing past you as you’re watching F1).
Shoppers have given this an average rating of 4.5 out of 5 on the Amazon website.
One buyer writes: ‘Great quality picture, easy to install and [they] delivered when they said. Sound is good-quality, and it’s easy to navigate. Great to have buttons on the remote for the apps. We really like it.’
Another shopper who described this as a ‘hidden gem’ adds: ‘I think you would be hard pressed to find a well-respected brand like Samsung and a TV of this quality for the price I paid… If you’re in the market for a budget TV, look no further than the Samsung CU8000.’
Amazon advertises an optional extra cost of £125 to get it professional installed – but honestly, I’d just suggest you read our how to wall-mount a TV explainer and save those costs.
