Kat’s son Tommy decided to move back in with her estranged husband Phil Mitchell, but she was having none of it.

She promptly told her son the reason she was no longer with Phil and the reason why they had moved out was because he had slept with Lola Pearce’s mum Emma Harding.

Tommy was gutted and later headed out of the Square on his own, leaving his mother beside herself with worry.

News of Tommy’s disappearance soon reached Nish, who had come to realise Kat could be valuable to him due to her stake in a local businesses.

He headed into the Square and told Kat: “So if you want, infact, even if you don’t want, I’m going to go and look for him.”

The camera then moved from Kat’s face to behind her as it showed Nish and granddaughter Avani walking off as she said: “Thanks Nish”.

But some EastEnders viewers were convinced it wasn’t actress Jessie Wallace who said the line as her alter ego Kat.

Sharing the clip on X – formerly Twitter – one wrote: “Obsessed how they’ve added in Kat saying “thanks, Nish” in post-production and it’s not even her voice!”

Another added: “2024 and somehow certain shows can’t make it sound more natural.”

The original poster replied: “I don’t get why that line was so important to warrant doing that shoddy job. Could have just omitted it.”

A third tweeted: “I thought I was going mad! So glad someone else noticed.”

A fellow viewer felt the same, writing: “Haha thanks for this, thought it was just me, I had to rewind it to try and work out who said it.”

Meanwhile a fifth commented: “What is the sudden trend in doing this? They’ve done it a lot recently and it just sounds terrible and really stands out.”

Thankfully Nish found Tommy and convinced him to return home, before going on to get Kat to give him another chance, with the matriarch not realising the businessman had an ulterior motive for their reunion.
