MCDONALD’S fans can finally rejoice as the beloved Breakfast Wrap is back on menus from today.

The fast-food giant has listened to its customers’ cries and brought back the “all-star” breakfast item after four years.

The wrap was axed in 2020 and ever since fans have been begging for its return.

Last week, The Sun was invited to give the morning snack a go alongside the various items also hitting menus today.

I was excited to give it a go, especially considering the change to a crucial ingredient – the eggs.

Previously, the wrap contained a folded omelette-style egg but now foodies get two rounded eggs stuffed inside.

These are more the style of those in Maccies’ iconic McMuffin.

Diners will be able to get their hands on the wrap from this morning.

You can grab it in all UK and Ireland restaurants, at drive-thrus and via home delivery apps.

The chain axed both the Breakfast Wraps and the Breakfast Bagels from restaurants in March 2020.

Those praying for their return were left devastated in January 2022 when it was confirmed the items were gone for good.

For four years fans’ cries fell on deaf ears but not any more.

I tried McDonald’s new pink desserts before anyone else

But how does it taste and is it as good as everyone remembers?

It’s now made up of one pork sausage patty, two round free-range eggs, and a slice of bacon.

This is then topped with a crispy potato rosti and cheese, all served inside a tortilla wrap and you can order it with either tomato ketchup or brown sauce.

Now, it’s worth bearing in mind I didn’t get to try the previous carnation of the wrap, so I can’t directly compare it to the original.

I tried the ketchup variation first, and attempted to get as many of the layered items in a bite at once.

The best way to describe it is a full English breakfast all stuffed together in a neat parcel.

In one bite you get a bit of pretty much everything, which means there are a lot of different flavours in one go from the saltiness of the bacon to the slightly creamy taste of the cheese.

Not only that but the different items all bring different textures to the table too – the slightly squidgy feel of the eggs and the crispiness of the hash browns.

This all marries well with the plain taste and soft texture of the tortilla wrap as well.

It reminded me of the chain’s Mighty McMuffin, which also combines all the same ingredients apart from the hash brown – so this is already a step up.

Next up I gave the brown sauce version a go.

Brown sauce would not be my personal choice for an English breakfast condiment but I did like how the tangy flavour mixed with the other items.

I personally hope Maccies will keep the wrap around, it’s the perfect addition to its breakfast offering and feels like a lighter option than a dense McMuffin.

The returning favourite will be available from £4.39 on its own, or £5.89 for a meal with a drink and a hashbrown.

But do remember that prices do vary from restaurant to restaurant so make sure you double check before you pay.

It will be available in restaurants from 5am to 11am.

Fans will need to be quick though because the breakfast snack is only around for a limited time – although if it’s popular it could be made permanent.

The wrap will be joining a whole host of other breakfast items including the iconic McMuffins and Cheesy Bacon Flatbreads.

What else is being added to the McDonald’s menu?

The fast-food giant is giving its McSpicy a major spice upgrade with the help of Frank’s RedHot mayonnaise.

The Sun was invited for an exclusive tasting of the new dish to see if it lives up to its reputation.

Maccies fans will pay £5.59 for just the burger and £7.29 as part of a meal, which includes fries and a drink.

McDonald’s is also gearing up to launch two never-before-seen pink desserts and a fan-favourite burger on February 7.

Among the new items are the KitKat Ruby Chocolate McFlurry and Raspberry and White Chocolate Pie.

The KitKat Ruby Chocolate McFlurry mixes soft ice cream with Ruby Chocolate-covered KitKat pieces and wafer bites, it’s then topped with a pink raspberry sauce.

The pie is a crispy pink pastry filled with a smooth white chocolate ganache and raspberry compote.

If you’re not a fan of change, there will also be a classic KitKat Milk Chocolate McFlurry.

This is a combination of milk chocolate KitKat pieces and wafer bites and chocolate sauce.

You’ll be able to pick up the new McFlurry for £2.19, or £1.59 as a mini – the pie will cost £1.99.

The beloved Big Tasty and the Big Tasty with bacon are both back as well.

Each time the burgers make a comeback, they’re a huge hit, with many calling for them to be made permanent.

They contain a beef patty, melty cheese made with Emmental, tomato, lettuce, onions and iconic Big Tasty sauce.

For those of you looking to upgrade your dinner, you can also bag the burger with bacon too.

They’ll cost £7.69 for the classic and £8.49 with bacon.

Also back again are Mozzarella Dippers, which come in a pack of three or as a sharebox of nine, are each coated in breadcrumbs and served with salsa dip.

They will cost £2.39 for a pack of three and £6.49 for a sharebox.
