Fans had only just tuned in for the new series of the Channel 4 dating show when the handsome chap pitched up for a date.
French maître d’hôtel Fred Sirieix failed to recognise him, but waitress Cici Coleman instantly knew who he was.
She correctly identified him as Aaron Evans, who won the first series of The Traitors alongside Hannah Byczkowski and Meryl Williams.
The trio scooped the £101,050 prize pot, which they split between themselves.
But speaking to Fred and Cici, Aaron revealed he gave all of his share of the money to his mum, before “asking for £3,000 back because I was broke”.
Aaron, 26, was matched with straight-A student Laura, 28, and the pair hit it off instantly.
They soon revealed they both had an ADHD diagnosis and were thrilled to discover they were both wearing special fidget rings on their fingers.
Laura had no idea of Aaron’s past brush with fame, however, and was left baffled when a fellow diner in the First Dates restaurant asked for a selfie with him.
“Why the hell is someone asking for a selfie with you?” she asked her date.
Aaron joked that it was because he “looks like Brad Pitt“, which Fred had told him when he had first arrived.
But he then revealed the truth and explained he had won The Traitors. Laura, however, was completely underwhelmed as she had never even heard of the BBC game show.
Writing on X, formerly known as Twitter, First Dates fans were quick to share their surprise at seeing Aaron on the dating series.
One viewer wrote: “No way Aaron from The Traitors is on First Dates haha he’s so bloody cuuute!”
Another added: “He’s cute but talks way too much. Didn’t recognise him from The Traitors!”
A third wrote: “Aw seeing that Aaron from The Traitors S1 gave all his prize money to his mum!”
And someone else chimed in: “Late tuning in…. the lad speaking Spanish, where have I seen him before??? Was in the first series of The Traitors?????!”
Following their date, Aaron and Laura enjoyed a drink outside together before she headed to the loos.
She then returned to discover him speaking to his mum on the phone, chatting in both English and Spanish.
Introducing herself on speakerphone, Laura told his mum she had never watched The Traitors.
“I had no clue – tell me about it, tell me about it!” she said.
Aaron butted in: “I went on the show, won the show, gave all my money to my mum.”
The couple admitted to the cameras following their date that they were going to see each other again.
In fact, they disappeared off into the night together after revealing they were off for another drink.
