Berbatov’s Rashford advice

Dimitar Berbatov has urged his former club to help Marcus Rashford overcome his personal issues.

“When someone isn’t famous for disciplinary issues or different antics outside of the football pitch and they start acting like this in an unprofessional way, it’s always surprising,” he told Betfair.

“You think about a player and then you see a different side to them when they act out of character. What’s the reason for the change?

“There must be a reason. If United don’t find the answer for this then this behaviour will continue. If United find the answer to why he’s behaving like this and help him, then hopefully everything will go back to normal and he’ll continue to play and be more focused and concentrated.

“People will be surprised but based on previous small misbehaviours, you can see something is there. I’ve spoken about his form on the pitch, he’s been late to the team meeting before. So, something is there and until United fix it, I think his behaviour will continue like this.”

Sancho blow

Manchester United have suffered a blow in their attempts to offload Jadon Sancho permanently, according to reports.

Dortmund sporting director Sebastian Kehl has now cast serious doubt over their ability to agree a permanent transfer with Man Utd for the on-loan winger.

Speaking to Sky Germany, he said: “Unfortunately for both players, neither option was really realistic.

“If you know what we got for Jadon Sancho two and a half years ago, then you know also that it might now be very, very difficult.

“We naturally advocated for an option with him – and also with Ian – but the negotiating position was not such that we could implement it and so we will accept it for now.”

Fernandes rejects astronomical Saudi offer

Bruno Fernandes rejected a lucrative offer from Saudi Arabian outfit Al-Hilal during the January transfer window, according Portuguese outlet Record.

The Man Utd captain snubbed the chance to join up with Brazilian icon Neymar in the Gulf State.

Al-Hilal is led by Jorge Jesus – who managed Fernandes at Sporting Lisbon before he moved to United in 2020.

But the Red Devils captain has pledge to stay at Old Trafford to see his side try to recapture their former success.
