DIY guru Alex, who describes her house as “old” and “draughty” recently took to TikTok to explain how she was sick of feeling the wind breeze through her pad, so she decided to come up with her own solution.

In a clip that’s generated over 18K likes on TikTok, Alex who goes by the name of Casalawson, wasted no time in getting started.

Firstly, she pulls out her trusty tension rod to re purpose it as some may remember its previous use in her Christmas Garland hack last month.

You can get your hands on an extendable tension rod just like the one featured in this video for as cheap as £6 from Dunelm

In her ‘draughty old house edition’ video the DIY guru advised: “If you have a draughty door like me then go and get that tension rod out the loft and a thermal door curtain and you will thank me later.”

With that you see her beautiful beige long drop thermal curtain installed above her front door in seconds.

It completely transforms her hall to radiate a warm and snug feeling that we’re all trying to emulate this winter.

In her caption Alex comments: “This is an absolute game changer and my only regret is not doing it sooner.”

Many comments we’re left asking Alex where they can find her thermal curtains.

The content creator sign posted followers to her bio where she lists her featured items, including her curtains which are available in four colours from Debenhams for £25 – £35.

However, there’s a like for like match for a fraction of the price in Dunelm for just £12.

One commenter wrote: “OMG Why didn’t I see this last week? I made humongous holes in my walls trying to put up a curtain pole.”

Another said: “I did mine last night and it’s so much better.”

And a further follower tagged her friend and commented: “I’m so tempted as my door area is so cold.”
