Solicitor Mahmoud Abbas was shot outside his home in south-west Sydney last year, and was able to stumble inside to call triple-0.
Emergency services responded to Greenacre about 10:30am on July 26.
The 30-year-old lawyer was found with gunshot wounds to his leg and abdomen and was taken to hospital for surgery in a serious but stable condition.
Footage shows Mr Abbas in a driveway getting into his car to leave the property.
He was then approached by a second man running across the street, who police say appeared to have been waiting in a black Jeep.
The gunman, who’s identity is unknown, shoots Mr Abbas before fleeing in the Jeep that was found the next day in nearby Wiley Park.
Mr Abbas later lodged a injunction against the commissioner of police after detectives seized a laptop and devices from his home, which he argued contained privileged legal information.
The shooting is currently being investigated by the State Crime Command’s Robbery and Serious Crime Squad and Strike Force Alverstone.
Police are urging anyone with information on the incident, the gunman, or the movements of the car to contact Crime Stoppers.
