As many Brits are living from pay cheque to pay cheque, forking out on expensive beauty products may be the last thing on their list.
But self care is important, which means no one should be going without.
Good quality of life can affect how one thinks, feels, acts and responds – which is why looking after oneself has never been so important.
So if the beauty products are looking a little too expensive, fear not.
There are some natural remedies which beauty fans are claiming to be “just as good” and the shop bought products.
Mum of three Ariba Pervaiz has revealed a cheap five ingredient DIY mask which adds all the nutrients back into hair which may be lacking in proteins.
She previously revealed how she started losing her hair in her thirties and has since been making natural remedy mixtures to help look after her hair and get the growth back again.
In one video, she said how the “old school protein hair mask,” does just the trick.
She captioned it: “I’m going back to a lot of my natural DIY remedies now that I’ve been colouring my hair again.
“Anytime you bleach your hair you’re pulling protein out, and this helps restore it back in naturally.
“You guys want me to start sharing these again?
“If I plan on maintaining my hair with all this bleach I’ll be doing all the stuff.”
The homemade mask includes half a cup of Mayonnaise, one avocado, one egg, tea spoons of Honey, and two tablespoons of Coconut Oil.
“Mayo is made from egg yolks and oils that are rich in amino acids and work together to form a strong conditioner for your hair.
“Avocado is a natural conditioner, a rich source of protein, amino acids and vitamins that promote hair growth, restore shine, and rejuvenate hair and scalp.
“Egg proteins work as a repairing treatment for hair and prevent breakage. It helps bring chemically treated hair back to life.
“Honey is antibacterial and antifungal and helps prevent dandruff and other scalp conditions and helps promote hair growth.
“Coconut oil strengthens, thickens and hydrates your hair and scalp from the inside out.”
Talking to the camera, Ariba demonstrates how it is made before applying it to her hair.
She says: “Let me show you how to make the best all natural protein care mask.
“We’re gonna start with half a cup of Mayo.
“All of the oils in the Mayo are basically gonna be a deep conditioner.
“This is what’s gonna give us all of our protein.
“Don’t stab the seed out, just pop it through the back like that and it’ll come right out.
“Anytime you bleach your hair like I do, you’re pulling protein out of your hair and the avocado is gonna put that protein back in.
“Nothing says protein like an egg.
“I know it feels icky putting it in your hair, but once it’s all blended together, you won’t even know what’s in there.
“Honey’s gonna give us all the antibacterial, anti fungal properties.
“And this is gonna be really good for your scalp.
“So just add a couple teaspoons of that.
“I’m using coconut oil.
“This is going to replenish and hydrate your hair from the inside out, it’s one of my favourite oils for your hair.”
Scooping the mixture out with her hands, and applying it to her hair she says: “Look how gorgeous that texture is. Oh my God.
“Do this in the shower right after you shampoo your hair.
“I washed my hair this morning so it’s clean and it’s still a little damp.
“Apply it to the roots to ends.
“I’m going to make sure I get it all over my scalp because it’s wintertime and I’ve been so itchy.
“Leave this in your hair for at least 10 minutes.”
Ariba then cuts the camera and then shows what her hair looks like after washing the mask out and drying her hair.
It is clear to see that her locks are more voluptuous and full of volume.
She says: “Alright, it feels so much softer, feels stronger.”
Many people rushed to the comments section to share their thoughts and ask some questions.
One asked: “Do you apply conditioner after that?”
To which Ariba replied: “You can!”
Another asked the question: “Do you shampoo again to wash it out?”
And Ariba replied: “You can shampoo if you feel you need to.”
Someone else said: “Well, I can tell you today I used honey avocado oil, a little bit of coconut oil, and one egg and my curls are really curly today.”
