From SunSport’s Jordan Davies at The Emirates
After 49 shots across their last three home games, Arsenal have finally scored at the Emirates thanks to Gabriel’s header from a corner – attempt No.50
Before that, the early signs were that frustrations were already kicking in with the same old hesitancy in the final third – Gabriel Jesus sending shot No.49 blazing over after a quick turn in the box.
But a brilliant forward pass from Oleksandr Zinchenko to split the Palace back five won the corner, and Declan Rice – an unusual choice for a corner taker – delivered a fine cross.
Gabriel Martinelli would have normally taken the set piece from that side, but with the Brazilian benched, Rice stood up and helped ease the nerves in North London.
Arsenal still look a bit jittery and Mikel Arteta has not been happy with some sloppy play at times, but importantly, they are ahead and as it stands within two points of league leaders Liverpool.
