Occasional Digest - a story for you

A COUPLE wanted to walk down the aisle together but first, they had to find a way to walk down the airport aisle.

One woman revealed that she and her husband nearly missed their wedding because of a loose plane door.

Emma (@officialemmadegs) shared the story in a video with her TikTok followers.

“We are flying to our wedding tomorrow morning and United just told us that our flight’s canceled,” she said.

She explained that the airline offered three alternative flights, which weren’t ideal, and didn’t even allow the two to sit next to each other.

After booking their alternative flight, she quickly realized it was not a guaranteed seat but standby.

“When people told me that things were going to go wrong at your wedding, I thought like, the florist would forget and we would not have flowers at our wedding,” she said, in full shock.

“Things I could manage, not that we wouldn’t get there for our wedding.”

In a follow-up video, Emma discovered that her flight was canceled because the plane door flew off.

“It was recalled because doors are flying off,” she said.

Upon further investigation, she was even more irritated finding out that only 80 planes, including hers, were recalled.

“We happened to be on one of the 80 United Boeing Max 9 plans in the entire United States,” she said.

To get to their wedding, the couple eventually booked flights with a different airline at a different airport: “Got the last two seats on this flight,” Emma said.

People were glad that they made it to their wedding but many took the story as a precautionary tale.

“Flying to your wedding, the day before your wedding, in the winter is crazy,” said one commenter.

“Being shocked that your flight is canceled in the winter is even crazier.”

Others criticized the couple for flying with so little time in between the big ceremony.

“Why would you fly out only one day in advance?” asked one viewer.

“As a wedding photographer I’ve only seen couples be there at least 3-5 days before the wedding, I didn’t know a day before was even an option,” said another.

“Glad it worked out for you but book to arrive days earlier next time,” agreed a third.
