Even if you weren’t close to the high street, you could still get your hands on the latest ‘must-have’ lotion when the Body Shop at Home catalogue arrived at your front door.

Sadly, execs have announced that it will be closing down the service next month with many shoppers needing to find an alternative way to get their beauty supplies.  

However, one Body Shop employee has revealed there is a way to still your favourite cosmetics without breaking the bank – you just need to shop in the right section.

Rather than looking at the clearance aisle, shop worker Imie revealed that it’s better to stock up in the refill station instead.

For those who aren’t in the know, you can receive double points whenever you use the service meaning you can spend the points on other goodies throughout the year.

If you still weren’t sold, refill items also have an extra 50ml so you’ll get more product simply by making the switch to refillable items.

There is a huge array of items included in the scheme too, such s the classic ginger shampoo, with Imie showing off the product in the Nottingham Bridlesmith branch on Tiktok.

To take part all, you simply need to sign up, purchase your product, then rinse and return the aluminium refill bottle – it really is that simple!

Even better, you will be stopping plastic packaging from going to landfill which helps the environment too.

If you are looking to use this eco-friendly service, there are a few things you should know before signing up.

Currently, The Body Shop has over 720 refill stations and had pledged to launch an extra 130 in 2023.

With this in mind, you’ll need to double-check that your local branch is part of the scheme and you can a find full list on the brand’s website.

You also won’t be able to refill your old plastic bottles, so make sure you recycle these at home before heading to the high street.

Imie also had some sage advice for those who hadn’t visited The Body Shop before and even made a tongue-in-cheek video about her most frequently asked questions.

Whilst you might be looking forward to starting new favourite body butter, she advised fans not to use it on their faces.

Her concern was clear, as the caption read: “It’s not illegal but we don’t recommend it! It’s too thick for facial skin.”

The young woman also revealed which items were best-sellers, such as the ginger shampoo, the hemp hand cream and the vitamin E moisturiser.
