But not everyone felt the same about the style she had selected.
“I’m going to an engagement party tonight for my cousin literally from India but the dress code is Western, so I still don’t really know what to wear, especially since I have to dress conservatively,” said Sanica Mehta (@sanicamehta).
The self-proclaimed Carrie Bradshaw wannabe held up a hanger with a potentially dress code approved garment on it.
“So I was thinking this slip dress would be cute with something on top of it of course,” she explained.
She tried on the look but she wasn’t done just yet.
Sanica then added another piece of clothing – a white bolero.
“I literally got this off Amazon and I think it covers enough,” she said.
Still, not everyone was completely pleased with her party attire.
“Of course my mom said the dress was too low-cut,” she explained.
The fashionista added a gold locket and white heels to not only elevate her chic look but to stay comfortable as well.
“I always like to wear these when I just want to wear sneakers but still want to look good.”
Some fans who could relate were amused by the dress code.
“I love how we call it Western when anyone else would think that means cowboy vibes,” she joked.
Once she felt she was ready – completely covered up or not – she gave a little kick in the air.

She says that in some instances it is necessary to do your research, ask for help when needed, and always dress respectfully.
