Melissa Woods shared details of her renovation project via a video posted to her TikTok channel @welcome2thewoods.

The caption to Melissa’s video reads: “This lake house remodel brought so much personal growth. With courage and youtube tutorials, one can do anything!”
In the video, Melissa said that she bought the lake house as a “project”.
She said that when she first moved in, the interior hadn’t been touched for “decades” and shared clips of outdated brown furnishings
Melissa’s first step was to remove the “dirty, smelly carpet” as well as lots of the other furnishings which she said were “damaged” or “unusable”.

The DIY pro then set about creating her “vision”, painting the walls, laying wood flooring and spending “countless hours refinishing trim-work”.
Melissa said that she learned so many new skills during the renovation, such as electrical, drywall, replacing windows and even tiling.
The lake house now looks unrecognisable.
In the living room, Melissa built wooden beams and added them to the ceiling, built and entire fireplace and added faux rock to the walls.
In the kitchen she repurposed the old cabinets into a stylish breakfast bench and transformed an old bookshelf into a kitchen cabinet to give the house a “modern cottage feel”.
TikTok users raced to the comments sections of Melissa’s video to praise her amazing renovation.
One user said: “You should be so proud and pleased with your efforts. Looks incredible.”
Another user said: “I am thoroughly impressed! The living room and kitchen are outstanding. I wish I still had your stamina”.
A third user added: “What an amazing job you did girl. Looks beautiful, congratulations on being a carpenter. Top notch”.
