Kevin Allan Craig Potter, 35, has been charged with the alleged murder of Raymond Smith.
Mr Smith was last seen alive in the town of Greenbushes on December 7.
Police had described his disappearance as “out of character”.
Police said earlier this month that the homicide squad had taken carriage of the investigation, and on Friday it was revealed that Mr Smith’s body had been discovered in bushland.
Mr Potter appeared in Northbridge Magistrates Court via videolink from Bunbury on Sunday.
He was remanded in custody and will appear in Stirling Gardens Magistrates Court later this month.
