The US rockers’ frontwoman Hayley Williams is a long-time pal of Taylor and the band are preparing to support her Eras tour this spring.
But first, after falling out with their management at Atlantic, Paramore will hit the studio to remaster their previous songs under Hayley’s own publishing firm, But Father, I Just Want To Sing Music.
It comes after superstar Taylor’s wrangles with industry tycoon Scooter Braun after his company bought up the master recordings of her first six albums in 2019.
Since then she has been busy re-recording all six collections to regain her ownership of the songs.
Still Into You hitmakers Paramore, also comprising guitarist Taylor York and drummer Zac Farro, now plan to do similar.
A source said: “All they want is ownership of their music.
“Taylor is really supportive to them behind the scenes and is always available to give them advice. She’s their biggest cheerleader.”
And my insider added: “There’s likely to be more bands and artists who re-record their music in years to come to regain rights.”
There is history for this, too.
In 2014, Blondie re-recorded their 1981 album Best Of Blondie and renamed it Ghosts Of Download.
In her 2019 memoir, Debbie Harry wrote: “Regaining control of our material was complicated and contentious. The label fights this tooth and nail. It can be a nightmare winning back those rights.”
Paramore’s dates on Taylor’s tour are their only planned gigs after they announced last week they have dropped out of this month’s ALTer Ego festival in California.
There was also uncertainty over the band’s future after their Instagram account was mysteriously wiped.
My exclusive should give hope to fans that there will be more Paramore.
Eau dear Tom, What a softie
HOLLYWOOD hardman Tom Hardy has revealed a suprisingly softer side.
I can reveal the actor, who has starred in edgy, violent flicks Legend, Venom and The Revenant, has landed a £500,000 ad campaign with posh fragrance brand Jo Malone.
Tom will do a London photoshoot later this month and the images will drop during spring.
A source said: “It’s an unlikely union between the actor and brand, but a big-budget one.
“Jo Malone is popular with women but the brand’s bosses hope Tom will help flog it to lads.”
Tom has long been a pro at posing for the camera, ever since winning The Big Breakfast’s Find Me A Supermodel contest in 1998 when he was a young drama student.
Now fragrance bosses are looking to bottle that Blue Steel look.
James: I tried Top Gear
FORMER Top Gear presenter James May admitted to trying local weed when he was filming his new Prime Video show Our Man In India.
As part of his travels for the series, he took part in the Hindu festival of Holi and had his face painted before celebrating with the locals.
He recalled: “There were some foreigners drinking but on the whole locals don’t drink at that festival.
“Some of them get a bit high on another supply but can I admit that I did try a bit? I didn’t do it on camera . . . it’s like very mild, medium mild weed.”
EastEnder’s Shiv seeks Appiness
EASTENDERS actor Shiv Jalota is looking for a romantic storyline off-screen.
I can reveal that the actor, who plays Vinny Panesar in the BBC One soap, has signed up to the celebrity dating app Raya and has revealed he is looking to meet someone in London.
On his profile, Shiv has listed his interests as “white wine, Netflix, fitness and pizza”.
He added that he regularly hangs out at swanky private members’ club Soho House.
But he has not shied away from his soap star status and has included a snap of himself with ex-EastEnders star Danny Dyer.
Meanwhile, former Coronation Street star Kimberly Hart-Simpson is back on the app after previously ditching it in favour of Instagram.
The actress, who played Nicky Wheatley in the ITV soap, has stated she is based in Manchester and has “a deep obsession with Adidas”.
Bey’s a barbie
BEYONCE got all dolled up as a real-life Barbie for a star-studded birthday bash.
The superstar flaunted her curves in a £1,500 pink Missoni minidress to help basketball player Lebron James celebrate his 39th with a retro-themed party at Los Angeles club Studio 84.
And Queen B did not skimp on accessories with a huge turquoise diamond ring on her finger and Tiffany & Co jewelled cat-eye sunglasses.
She also made sure she had her very own Ken with her in the form of husband Jay-Z.
The rapper and producer donned a light-blue Dolce & Gabbana double-breasted suit topped with a cashmere coat as he posed with his wife ahead of the event themed on infamous Seventies New York City nightclub Studio 54.
Pair shore still like to party
THEY rose to fame painting the Toon red as they partied into the early hours.
But Geordie Shore stars Chloe Ferry and Marnie Simpson reckon the MTV show’s new series, set in Cyprus, is just as wild – even with boyfriends and babies in the mix.
Chloe, who revealed she is in an on-off relationship with her ex Johnny Wilbo, said of filming: “I was still living it up, I was still getting drunk. Marnie and I were still our wild selves – I even think we had a cheeky kiss at some point.”
Meanwhile, mum-of-two Marnie, who tied the knot with long-term boyfriend Casey Johnson last March, says the series was a chance to switch off from parent mode.
She added: “I don’t even care if all of the mum trolls come for us.
“Just because you are a mum does not mean that you have to be boring, that you can’t let your hair down, can’t have fun and dress how you want.”
Jesy’s got ex-factor
JESY Nelson recently revived her on-off romance with rapper Zion Foster – but still draws musical inspo from a failed previous relationship.
The Little Mix star turned solo artist has officially registered her track Heart-break Hotel, two years after a snippet was leaked.
A source said: “Jesy scrapped a lot of her songs after she parted from record company Polydor. But everyone in her camp loved Heartbreak Hotel so she changed her mind.”
In it, she sings: “Sorry that you’re back so soon, it’s OK, we have been expecting you.”
Jesy was pictured reunited with Zion in November, on a dog walk in Essex.
But ex-loves include music director Harry James, Love Islander Chris Hughes, Our Girl actor Sean Sager and singer Jake Roche.
