Occasional Digest - a story for you

So, today is likely to be the day we say goodbye to David Warner.

Whatever you think about Warner. Whatever you think about this farewell tour, he has made a tremendous contribution to Test cricket in Australia.

“It’s amazing. I did say six months ago this would be ideal,” Warner says to Fox Sports.

“I know over the years I’ve not been everyone’s cup of tea.

“I’ve always played the game to the best of my ability and try to do the best for the team.

“I hope I’ve regained the trust with everyone.”

He says that he was very disappointed to get out the way he did in the first innings, but in hindsight recognises that it was a tough wicket to bat on.

“I was [disappointed],” Warner says of his first innings dismissal.

“The SCG can be like that, you can get one with your name on it. But you don’t expect one to turn off the square.

“I was disappointed with getting a start and getting out.”

Will he be able to write the final chapter in his story by hitting the winning runs today?
