Mackenzie Boyd was at death’s door when Harry aka Damon Harris kidnapped and held him hostage to make him pay for his poor treatment of his daughter, Chloe Harris.

The heartthrob portrayed by Lawrence Robb was blackmailed and beaten into given up his son Reuben, thus allowing Chloe to leave the eponymous village with the tot.

After finding out her other half was in danger, with Chloe trying and failing to discreetly help him, Charity took it upon herself to save Mackenzie with her cousin Chas’ help.

Chas (Lucy Pargeter) already knew about Harry’s evil ways as he recently also kidnapped her, holding her captive to teach her brothers Cain Dingle and Caleb Milligan a lesson.

Unfortunately for Harry, his plan backfired on him as Charity was able to kill him to save Mackenzie.

Chloe Harris and Reuben left the Dales in a taxi, with Mack being inconsolable as he realised he would have to let his son grow up without him.

But while the mother-son duo managed to escape, Charity and Mackenzie have to deal with the fallout of Harry’s death.

Coming up on ITV, Charity is beside herself as she struggles to cope with her actions.

However, DS Jones (Hayley Considine) pays her a visit next week with some good news to share – Harry’s death is ruled accidental by the authorities.

Mack is relieved, happy to know his wife is off the hook.

Meanwhile, Charity, despite hiding it, is really struggling – could she face an imminent crisis of conscience?

Will she end up admitting what she’s done?

The Woolpack landlady may be tempted to remain quiet as she has already spent time behind bars.

Diehard soap watchers will remember that Charity was sent to prison for the murder of Chris Tate.

While there, she gave birth to her son Noah Dingle.

Thankfully for her, she was released as it was revealed she’d actually been framed for Chris’ death.

Chris Tate ended his own life, letting his then-wife Charity (whom he’d married in 2001) take the fall as revenge for cheating on him with Cain Dingle.

Will Charity manage to escape prison?

Emmerdale airs weeknights from 7.30pm on ITV.
