She bought only items from Dollar Tree for her budget-friendly hack that left many people inspired to make their own.
Paige Cons (@paigeconstantino) has almost 46,000 followers on TikTok, where she shares frequent buys amid her “shopping addiction.”
She took to the social media platform to share advice for making a charcuterie board without splurging on expensive items.
“We’re gonna need a basket for this one,” she said. “This is a great little spot it says gifts for everyone and it has so many cute things.”
Paige began to browse the shelves in her local Dollar Tree store for items that she could use for her charcuterie board.
She filled her basket with a variety of foods showing each to the camera as she went along.
“They have this jalapeno cheese and I’m also going to get a block of cheddar,” she said.
“They have this cute peppermint crunch popcorn that adds texture.
“This [classic mini panettone] is also great to add some variety and height.
“They have these mini jars of cookie butter which is so cute for adding different flavors on the board.
“I’m also going to grab one of these forest fruit jams, two actually.
“And this hot pepper peach jam is so good, I’m going to grab two of those.
“I love these [chocolate] wafer rolls on a charcuterie board you need to have something sweet.
“I love using trail mix because it comes with so many different nuts all in one packet.”
Paige then went to the chip aisle to pick up braided pretzels, sourdough nibblers, and white chocolate pretzels.
She also bought a tin of mixed nuts that she planned to separate at home, olives, mini pickles, and mini toasted bread.
“Obviously we need some crackers and I love these olive oil ones,” she said while holding a pack.
“They look really fancy and you would never know that you got them from the Dollar Tree.
“You can never go wrong with some wheat thins and obviously this [salted crackers] is a fan favorite as well.
“I also found these crispy onions, I feel like this would be really fun on a board.”
Paige then went to the refrigerator section to pick up a variety of cheeses, including pepper jack and mild cheddar.
As the store didn’t sell fruit, she recommended substituting it with dried fruits such as berries or a large bag of fruit trail mix.
“If you’re willing to splurge you can go to a grocery store and get a bag of grapes or an apple to cut up,” she said.
“Charcuterie boards don’t have to be expensive.
“The Dollar Tree is a great place to go to impress your friends and family.”
“Let’s SLAY your holiday party on a budget,” she added in the caption of the video.
Paige revealed in a follow-up video that she uses her cutting board to make her charcuterie board but said Dollar Tree has a wide selection of trays that can be used instead.
She placed three small plastic bowls on the board before artistically laying out a small amount of each food.
“I used everything I got and I think it looks adorable,” she said. “I don’t think you would ever know this is from Dollar Tree.
“Now you have a perfectly good snack to bring to any holiday party.
“This all cost me under $30 and you can make a bigger or smaller one based on your budget.
“I hope you guys like the reveal and let me know if you want to see any other treats from Dollar Tree.”
Over 4.7 million people watched the video detailing what to buy and thousands more enjoyed the process of seeing the charcuterie board being put together.
Viewers took to the comment section thanking Paige for sharing her advice and admitting they were eager to try making one for themselves.
“Some of of us live on a budget and for that, I’m thankful for you,” one person wrote.
“Looks cute! Thanks for sharing the final product. Love this budget-friendly charcuterie board,” another commented.
“You did good for Dollar Tree, but if my Italian mother came into my house and saw this… I would NEVER hear the end of it lol,” a third said.
“People always have to complain. It looks amazing,” a fourth penned.
“I love the Dollar Tree and this concept! Don’t have to break the bank to be boujee,” another added.
