ACCIDENTS can sometimes lead to the best discoveries and in one woman’s case, a leaking pipe led her to a big discovery.

She uncovered a hidden room in the “creepy” basement of her 200-year-old home.

Mystee (@mysteeipong) shared the discovery in a video with over 50,000 TikTok followers.

The content creator explained that when a leak occurred in her home, she discovered water was coming out from underneath a wall.

The water led her to a bricked-in wall: “You can even see a doorway around it,” she said, showing off the wall.

Her husband attempted to break down the brick wall to gain access to the room but the two realized they lacked sufficient materials.

“Luckily they are cinder blocks so they are hollow on the inside, we got through the first part but we have yet to get through the second part,” she said.

In a third video, the couple once again attempted to break through the wall to the room and shared discoveries they made about their home.

“The reason why we haven’t been able to get through is because this room is filled with rocks,” she explained.

Mystee shared the rabbit hole she fell down after investigating her Newport home: “I didn’t know that my house had ties to the underground railroad,” she said.

“We looked up Newport and sure enough, eight minutes away there is a station,” she added.

Although the couple were still unable to break down the wall, people rushed to their comments to share their speculation on the room and what it could have been used for.

A few thought the couple should leave the room alone: “Am I the only one that thinks that room is sealed off for a reason?” said one commenter.

“Bricked in room 200-year-old house that’s the plot to MOST 80s horror movies lol,” agreed another.

Some thought they needed professional help to get into the room: “Based on your husband’s tools, I don’t think he’s too eager to get in!” said one commenter.

“The fact that husband used a tiny chisel and sage … y’all not the ppl for work,” joked another.

Many didn’t have theories but found themselves intrigued anyways: “I have never been so creeped out and invested at the same time,” said one viewer.
