No one REALLY wants to do my job but I earn £420 a day doing it – the sunny winter escapes are a nice perk

Occasional Digest - a story for you

A WOMAN has revealed she earns a whopping £420 a day doing a job most people wouldn’t fancy doing.

The job is seen as a vital market in most countries as it’s constantly in high demand and you get a lot of time off each year to go on a sunny winter break.

The highly paid job might surprise a lot of people as it’s actually bricklaying – an occupation known for being very difficult labour.

The woman – who spoke in the viral TikTok by @salaryscale – broke down her wages per day and revealed that the secret to getting paid the big bucks is to simply lay more bricks.

This is because bricklayers are often paid per brick that gets laid and at the moment the standard rate is sitting between $1.50 to $2 or just under £1.50 a brick.

She made a jaw dropping statement revealing how much she takes home everyday saying: “It depends on how often you work but I guess maybe I can make about Australian $500-$800 a day.”

This comes out at a potential £260-£428 in just 24 hours – a staggering amount.

When asked how she felt about getting getting such an impressive wage she replied: “It’s pretty good. Obviously could do better but like with being into bricklaying that’s as good as it gets.”

If you want to get your hands on this kind of sweet cash you’ll have to take a trip across the world to Perth, Australia.

To make matters even more beneficial for workers they get a huge amount of time off work.

Bricklayers can’t typically work during wet weather conditions so this means they get a lot of days off during the winter to explore the world and relax away from the draining brickwork.

But in summers, when temperatures are scorching in Australia work can be tricky.

But the lady does admit after a few weeks in the heat – that can get up to 40C – you get used to it and can crack on with work and pocket more money.

In the viral clip, where the Aussie spills the beans on her profitable career, she goes on to say that per team there are about five workers on a build at one time.

The comments were full of surprised people left shocked from the news that they might just be in the complete wrong industry.

A comment said: “They get paid per brick!!! If I had known this when I was younger then I would have done that for a living instead.”

As another said: “What $1.50 to $2 a brick you could easily lay like 1,000 bricks a day. Maybe I should change my job.”

Many comment also heaped support on the lady saying: “It’s super rare to have a woman bricklayer – good on her.”

A second bricklayer also left a message supporting her fellow worker: “Yessss! Another female brickie in Perth! There’s not many of us out there.”

Another woman who made a whopping £11,000 a month doing an unpopular job has shared clips from her working day.

The TikToker who goes by @serendipidadetravels revealed the highs and lows of the bizarre and remote occupation.

Earlier this month we told of a man who does a job no one wants so he only has to work half the year and earns 8,000 a month.

Richard Detering shared how he has embarked on the unusual career as it enables him to focus on his true passion – bodybuilding.
