Northern Territory Police have charged a man who allegedly fired a compound bow during a fight involving up to 40 people in the troubled community of Wadeye.

The 25-year-old man was arrested in the community on Thursday morning along with two others, while another person was taken into protective custody.
On Tuesday evening police said they received reports of a fight involving up to 40 people armed with weapons.
Police said a 35-year-old man was struck in the arm by an arrow, believed to have been fired from a compound bow, and was expected to be taken out of the community for treatment.
Police said the fight dispersed when officers from the community arrived.
In the statement, Acting Commander Brendan Muldoon said “highly visible proactive police” were patrolling the community to prevent further offending and were working with traditional owners and elders.
Police say the 25-year-old man has been charged with recklessly endangering life, aggravated assault with a weapon and going armed in public.
He is expected to appear in the Darwin Local Court on Friday.
Police say investigations into the unrest are ongoing and further arrests are expected to be made in the coming days.
