SA Police has revealed the identity of a woman who was killed at a business in Adelaide’s south-west on Wednesday.

Julie “Julez” Seed, 38, was allegedly stabbed at the Lydia Street business in Plympton about 3:40pm, police said.

Officers said a second woman, aged in her 40s, is in a critical condition at the Royal Adelaide Hospital.

A man has been arrested and police said he is expected to be charged with murder.

Detective Chief Inspector Kieran Baggoley said police recovered a knife and hammer from the scene.

“Obviously the circumstances under which the offences have occurred are currently subject to an investigation,” Chief Inspector Baggoley said.

“At this stage … it is suspected this is a random attack. There is no information to suggest this is anything other than that,” he said.

The chief inspector said the suspect, a 30-year-old man who is known to police, was in the area in the lead up to the alleged attack.

He said anyone with with dashcam footage or CCTV should come forward.

“Anyone … who saw a male who may have been walking up and down, we believe he was on Anzac Highway and Lydia Street for some time.”

“If you do have any dashcam footage or any CCTV footage and have seen someone acting strangely, contact us.”
