So if your little darling is breaking up from school for the festive season this Friday, and you are still yet to buy their teacher a present, you’ll need to listen up.
And especially if you thought a Starbucks gift card was a good idea, it’s time for a re-think.
Jac Farley, a teacher from Dallas, took to social media to reveal ‘All we want for Christmas.’
She explained: “If you are a parent buying presents for a teacher this year, listen up because this is for you.
“First and foremost, of course, obviously it goes without saying, any gift you get us, we appreciate, especially if it has a note from a parent or a student.”

Jac then revealed the presents to leave on the shelf, as she advised: “The top three gifts to avoid are going to be Starbucks gift cards, cups, whether it be mugs or just drinking cups, and number three, classroom decor.
“Of course these gifts are great, not throwing any shade at these gifts.
“However, teachers just get all of that on repeat all season long.”
Instead, Jac explained: “Now, let’s get into what most teachers say they actually want.
“Number one – I know you’re going to hate it, but gift cards.
“Gift cards are truly all I ever hear everybody say is what they want.
“The top gift card for educators is definitely Amazon. They can use it for anything.”
Not only do teachers love Amazon gift cards, but she also explained that teachers would welcome gift cards for food locations or for beauty treatments.
She continued: “Another gift card that is amazing is to food locations near the school.
“What a lot of people don’t know is teachers have a ton of professional development days, where lunch is on our own.
“When I get these gift cards for Christmas, it feels like a nice treat that I can go out for lunch and not spend my own money to treat myself.
“And number three, if you’re feeling super generous, are gift cards for nails or massages.
“Taking care of our nails and our bodies is something a lot of teachers don’t do because it’s pricey and a lot of teachers can’t afford it, so when we get a gift card for these things, it means the world.”
The TikTok clip, which was posted under the username @jacfarley, has clearly left many open-mouthed, as it has quickly amassed 99,600 views.
But despite Jac’s claims, many teachers took to the comments to share their thoughts on receiving Starbucks gift cards.
One person said: “I’m a teacher. I love Starbucks gift cards!”
Another added: “I’m a teacher. My number one request is Starbucks gift cards! I can never have enough.”
Whilst a third commented: “My mother as a teacher for 30 years would’ve rather had a three dollar gift card and a three dollar coffee mug.”
At the same time, someone else wrote: “Darn! I just bought my daughter’s teacher a Stanley cup and a Starbucks gift card.”
