The GLOSSIER X Star face compact will be everywhere in the new yearCredit: supplied

GLOSSIER X Star face compact (£15 for 32 stickers, starfaceworld.co.uk): Spot patches are mainstream.

When I went to New York in April, I saw lots of people wearing the classic yellow stars from Starface.

And given everything Glossier launches turns to gold, expect to see these playful patches everywhere come the new year.

I’m not sure they’re the most effective at shrinking spots, but they definitely stop you touching them and adding more germs to the mix – and the doodles are super cute.

The ultimate stocking filler.

The Jo Loves Christmas collection makes a perfect giftCredit: supplied

JO LOVES CHRISTMAS Traditions Collection, (£125, joloves.com): There are Christmas-scented candles galore available to buy, but I reckon Jo Loves do it best.

The Christmas tree scent is not at all synthetic or cloying and smells fresh without a hint of cleaning products.

It’s like bringing a fresh fir tree into the room – which is perfect if you live in a third-floor flat in central London and opt for a fake tree.

This set contains a 100ml Christmas tree home fragrance, alongside a plum pudding candle, gingerbread candle, snowflakes diffuser, Jo by Jo Loves bath cologne and Pomelo body crème.

The Drunk Elephant pack is expensive but seriously good value for moneyCredit: supplied

DRUNK ELEPHANT Drunk Trunk 7.0, £410: spacenk.com): For the price, a gift for a beauty lover doesn’t get better than this.

The bumper pack contains ten full-size Drunk Elephant products (worth more than £580) which cover all the bases when it comes to skincare – including the D-Bronzi Anti-Pollution Sunshine Drops.

They are all packaged in a cabin-luggage-compliant Baboon To The Moon backpack.

Yes, expensive, but it’s seriously good value for money and the popular brand is suitable for all ages and skin types.
