MANCHESTER UNITED fans warned the rest of the Premier League “we’re going to be scary” after news emerged that a forgotten star was back in training.

That is despite the fact that this 21-year-old winger has never played competitively for Erik ten Hag and last featured for the Red Devils senior side on December 8, 2021 in a 1-1 Champions league draw with Young Boys.

Ivory Coast international Amad Diallo handed United a major boost this week as he returned from injury.

The livewire returned to Old Trafford in the summer hoping to finally make his breakthrough following his £37million transfer move from Atalanta in January 2021.

Last season he enjoyed a fine stint on loan in the Championship at Sunderland, scoring 14 goals in 43 appearances to help them reach the play-offs.

That led to Ten Hag giving him a chance to impress in pre-season, but Diallo suffered a crushing blow when he picked up a knee injury in a friendly against Arsenal in July.

He has been sidelined ever since, but United confirmed on Thursday that he has now resumed first-team training as he looks to build up his fitness ahead of a comeback.

And supporters were instantly excited to see Diallo, who has made nine appearances in total for United, back at work after a clip of him taking part in a session was shared.

“It’s going to be scary,” declared one supporter as another echoed that sentiment by posting: “The league isn’t ready for this heat.”

“The boy’s back to cook,” said a fellow fan.

Another wrote that “the RW is reserved for him” as someone else stated that they “absolutely love this”.

And with Marcus Rashford, Alejandro Garnacho and Antony to choose from alongside Diallo, another said: “Our wings are stacked.”

United have endured a rollercoaster campaign so far but they did manage to ease the pressure on Ten Hag by defeating Chelsea 2-1 at home on Wednesday.

That result moved them sixth in the table, three points behind reigning champions Man City.

They take on Bournemouth on Saturday before their must-win final Champions League home clash against Bayern Munich next week.

And another fan, upon seeing Diallo’s return, even went as far to say that the “season starts now”.
