She was shocked that the Skims she was wearing underneath the revealing dress were visible for all to see.
But she had also found a silver lining – she could now prevent others from suffering the same fate.
“Let me save you the trouble – don’t wear a trendy see-through dress to a family function with just Skims underneath,” said Kat Shortsleeve (@katshortleevetravel).
The viral Free People blue dress featured a ruffle look around the sleeves and at the bottom.
The dip hem style was shorter in the front and longer in the back – and it was indeed easy to spot her light-colored Skims undergarments.
The brand is known for its buttery soft and form-fitting shapewear.
“I took this bullet so you don’t have to,” joked the entrepreneur and podcaster who made clear that her last name really is Shortsleeve.
The founder of Shortsleeve Travel, which is described as offering curated travel without breaking the bank, made the most of her situation by holding her drink out and dancing around.
It was too late to do anything now.
A friend also joined in as they playfully pointed at the camera.
Kat continued to move around and extended her arm out as if it were the grand finale of her performance over the faux pas.
The lighthearted travel lover still got some compliments despite the dress debacle.
“I think it looks fine – more than fine you look amazing! But the Skims showing through I mean,” said one follower.
“Haha, tell my grandpa that, he’s still pi**ed,” Kat replied.
Another viewer could relate to the see-through saga.
“I’ve accidentally done it but with just a bra and underwear. Might as well have been wearing a bikini,” she shared.
