Passengers have been issued amber warnings with heavy snow and freezing conditions plunging to a harsh minus 11C.

Temperatures plunging below freezing caused travel chaos across UK airports today.
Travellers have had their Christmas getaway ruined after flights were cancelled and delayed at Stansted Airport.
The transport hub said it was forced to change flights schedules due to cold weather conditions.
Flight operations are currently suspended due to heavier than forecast snow.
The Essex airport said: “Cold weather conditions are impacting some of our airlines, causing some delays or cancellations. As a result, our terminal is busier than usual.
“If you are due to travel this evening or tomorrow morning, please check with your airline for up-to-date flight information and allow extra time for your journey to the airport.”
Meanwhile, those travelling from Bristol Airport had their flights delayed.
Many users took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to complain.
One man blasted: “Shock – it’s freezing and the wings of the plane may need de-icing!!
“I know @BristolAirport let’s have ONE de-icing truck working. Sat for an hour on EasyJet flight to Amsterdam that should have departed at 18:25!
“I’ve got an idea – check the weather report and get organised!”
Another passenger added: “@BristolAirport can you help get the EZY2875 to Porto please???, we have only been sat on the plane for 2 and half hours!
Bristol Airport has since apologised to affected passengers.
A spokesperson said: “Sorry to hear of the delay that was experienced.
“Due to the cold temperatures, de-icing if required just before take off. The teams on the ground are working hard to achieve this.”
Flights were also suspended at Glasgow Airport after heavy snow swept the region this morning.
At least two flights bound for Glasgow were diverted to Prestwick and Edinburgh airports.
A spokesperson earlier said: “Flight operations are currently suspended due to heavier than forecast snow.
“Our winter teams have been working through the night and we hope to resume operations as soon as possible.
“Please check with your airline for further flight updates.”
The airport is now “fully operational” once again – with passengers still urged to check details with operators.
What are my rights if my flight is cancelled or delayed?
Under UK law, airlines have to provide compensation if your flight arrives at its destination more than three hours late.
If you’re flying to or from the UK, your airline must let you choose a refund or an alternative flight.
You will be able to get your money back for the part of your ticket that you haven’t used yet.
So if you booked a return flight and the outbound leg is cancelled, you can get the full cost of the return ticket refunded.
But if travelling is essential, then your airline has to find you an alternative flight. This could even be with another airline.
