Jada (@jadacairo) shared the skincare advice with over 90,000 TikTok followers.

She explained she slugged with moisturizer instead of Vaseline, rubbing the product on her face after finishing up all the other steps of her routine.

“Slugging,” the final step in an evening skincare routine, is the process of adding an occlusive product in order to seal all the products before it, in.

“Slugging season cause we approaching autumn/winter babyyy,” Jada said.

Although the influencer believed in slugging, she was horrified by the product of choice many people used.

“Also, I don’t know how people are slugging with Vaseline when that literally clogs pores and makes people break tf out,” she said.

Instead of Vaseline, Jada opted for the COSRX Rice Sleeping Mask, $10, an overnight mask meant to be layered as the last step of your skincare routine.

People took to the comments to share their thoughts on her advice.

Many agreed that Vaseline was not the right choice despite how commonly it was used in slugging.

“No cuz why’d this app tell me Vaseline was the answer and then I got milia?” said one viewer.

“Studies show that Vaseline isn’t comedogenic,” said another.

“Vaseline is defo not the answer sis,” agreed Jada.
